RevZero Inc. (Chanhassen, MN), a precision machining and contract manufacturing company, is expanding into multiaxis milling with the addition of a new vertical machining center. The move comes in response to the company's growth in the last 12 months. Providing medical device and other customers with prototyping to full production capabilities for microprecision metal and plastic components, subcomponents, and assemblies, the company offers Swiss-style screw machining, wire EDM, multiaxis milling and turning, EDM hole drilling, automated CNC tube bending, and assembly and finishing services.

Plastics Color Corp. (PCC), a supplier of color concentrates and additive masterbatches for the plastics industry, has opened a new R&D customer solutions center at their campus in Asheboro, NC. Equipped with the latest analysis and testing equipment, the clean compounding, or plant-within-a-plant, facility gives PCC new capabilities to increase its penetration into North Carolina's growing medical sector.

A provider of customized solutions for fluid-handling systems has published a 16-page high-purity product catalog. Offered by Asahi/America Inc. (Malden, MA), the full-color catalog is a resource for engineers, plant managers, and distributors. It highlights the advantages of using high-purity products in fluid-handling systems, including corrosion-resistant properties. Providing customers with general and technical information about the company's high-purity products, the catalog features specifications for Purad, PolyPure, and PP-Pure valves and piping systems.

A new brochure from PI (Auburn, MA) on medical applications of piezoceramic actuators and components is available at the company's here. Piezoceramic actuators are used in piezoceramics for pumps, nebulizers, and atomizers; piezomotors for micro liquid-dispensing applications; nonmagnetic piezomotors for imaging applications; and hexapod robots for computer-aided surgery. The components have several advantages over classical motion control components, according to the company, including sterile and high bake-out temperatures, lubricant-free operation, vacuum compatibility, small size and high force, faster response, and direct linear motion without conversion losses.
