Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) announced the addition of two senior leaders to segment president roles. Michael Garrison has been named executive president and president of the medical segment. Garrison has served a worldwide president of BD Medication Management Solutions since 2020, and previous that that role, helped integrate legacy Bard and BD product platforms into an integrated surgery offering and also developed growth strategies for advanced repair and reconstruction.

Richard Byrd has been named executive vice president and president of the interventional segment. Byrd previously served as worldwide president of Medication Delivery Solutions since 2019. Previous to that role, he served as worldwide president of Preanalytical Systems in BD Life Sciences, and vice president and general manager with BD Medical.

Both Garrison and Byrd will start in their new roles effective Sept. 6 and be responsible for the global operational, commercial, and financial performances of the businesses that comprise their respective segments.
