The winner of a giveaway could receive a robot and controller.

A firm specializing in PC-controlled precision robots has announced that it will give away an automation robot to a North American manufacturer. On the heels of the release of its Epson Micro PowerDrive controller, Epson Robots (Carson, CA; www.robots.epson.com) will supply an eligible entrant to the North American Robot Giveaway with one of the new products, along with a high-performance E2 Scara robot.

“North American manufacturers are working hard to keep jobs in North America by improving and automating their factories,” says Michael Ferrara, director of Epson Robots. “Epson Robots is helping manufacturers compete in a tough global marketplace… But now, for the first time ever, Epson Robots is going one step further to help one North American manufacturer by giving them a free industrial robot to help them compete.”

The winner of the prize—valued at an estimated $15,000—will be determined in a random drawing scheduled for mid-March 2007. Employees of end-user manufacturing facilities can enter the contest via the company’s Web site and must meet additional eligibility requirements in order to win.
