American RFID Solutions has formed alliances and partners throughout the RFID industry to promote the RFID Connecting to the World charity. All donations go to The Smile Train, a program that funds cleft palate and other physical disfigurement surgeries to improve the lives of children. The organization has raised approximately $3000 from the RFID industry, enough to fund surgeries for eight children.

Although it fell far short of the company's goal of $50,000, American RFID's vice president Brad Sokol says he is looking forward to future events. “So many resources were tapped, with the hurricanes and earthquakes this year, it's understandable that we didn't reach our goal.” Sokol is optimistic, however, and says the company plans to offer training sessions in RFID technology next year, with an attendance donation going to the charity.
