Hollow-shaft stepping motor provides packaging flexibility

A hollow-shaft stepping motor provides flexible packaging solutions for tight system integration. The hollow shaft, available in up to 5/8 in. OD, was designed to allow electrical or optical cables to pass through the central axis of the motor, increasing configuration options. The size-23 single-stack dc stepping motor has a 2.25 in. diameter and is 2 in. long. It is a bidirectional motor based on a 1.8° step with position accuracy of ±3% noncumulative. Additional features include peak torque of 50 oz-in. and permanently lubricated high-precision ball bearings.
