The Hyperformance cutting system offers consistent cut quality across a full range of plate thickness.

A high-temperature plasma metal-cutting system combines three technologies to form one robust mechanized system. According to its maker, Hypertherm (Hanover, NH), Hyperformance Plasma provides virtually dross-free cut quality, but does so with greater speed and up to two times longer consumable life than other technologies.

The cut quality is consistent across a full range of plate thickness.

"Hyperformance Plasma cut speeds are almost 25% greater on 12-mm metal than with other comparable precision solutions," says Peter Officer, marking manager for the company. "Cut speeds consistently approach those of more expensive 200-A systems."

Production pierce capability is 16 mm, with a maximum pierce of 25 mm. Marking and cutting are performed with the same consumables.

Before release, the systems are subjected to thousands of hours of reliability testing in the company's laboratories, as well as independent labs. They achieve a 100% duty cycle in operating environmentsfrom -10 to 40°C, with 95% humidity.

The systems are certified to CSA, NRTL/C, CCC, and CE and ISO 9001:2000 standards.
