Depth Filters

Polypropylene melt-blown depth filters are characterized by their extruded fibrous core. This core provides structural strength to the filters without compromising performance. The Claris series of filter cartridges offers lower initial pressure drops and longer in-stream life than conventionally produced products, according to USF Filtration & Separations (Palm Desert, CA). The filters are free of binders, adhesives, and surfactants, and all materials used in their fabrication meet USP toxicity guidelines.

Ultracapacitor

Measuring 17 x 24 x 4.5 mm and weighing 5.5 g, an ultracapacitor provides 4 F capacitance at a nominal 2.3 V. Developed by PowerCache (San Diego, CA), the PC5 can be used in tandem with batteries in applications that require both a constant low-power discharge for continual functions and pulse power for peak loads.

Medical-Grade Display

A flat-panel display monitor complies with international standards related to electromagnetic compatibility, liquid ingress, current leakage, and overall safety. Designed by Planar Systems Inc. (Beaverton, OR) for use in the healthcare environment, the unit reportedly features one of the industry's best viewing angles, and combines high contrast and rapid response times. The display is 78 mm thick and weighs 4.9 kg.
