A molding company's New Jersey-based facility is equipped for cleanroom insert and over-molding operations. |
The Applied Tech Products (ATP; West Berlin, NJ; www.atperpg.com) Engineered Rubber and Plastics Group has announced that its New Jersey–based facility is equipped for expanded operations tailored to the needs of the medical product industry. Specializing in insert- and overmolded components for surgical apparatus, the company’s typical overmolding process consists of applying a thermoplastic elastomer to a polycarbonate substrate.
Within its 60,000-sq ft facility, ATP operates a Class 100,000 cleanroom containing two conventional molding machines. Over time, the company aims to increase its cleanroom capacity to include 10 molding machines ranging in size from 50 to 300 tn. Planning to add two more machines by 2008, the company also boasts a white room facility dedicated to medical services that features three 200-tn, two-shot autorotating molding machines.
In addition to molding services, the company is capable of building most of its required tooling in-house and has outside resources for tools that it cannot create. Moreover, the service provider offers full product design and assembly in an ISO 9001:2000 certified–facility. The company can also meet ISO 13485 and FDA requirements when necessary.
