MD&DI Welcomes New Editorial Advisory Board Member

The staff of MD&DI is pleased to announce that David Vogel, PhD, has joined its Editorial Advisory Board. With more than 25 years of experience in biomedical engineering, software engineering, and software validation, he brings extensive expertise to the board.

Vogel is president of Intertech Engineering Associates Inc. (Norwood, MA), an outsourcing engineering firm he founded in 1982. There, he provides services that include product development and validation, validation of quality and production software, and training and management consulting.

“In addition to my work as a consultant for device engineering and validation, I also have a strong foundation in the validation of software used in the development, manufacture, and quality control of medical devices,” says Vogel. “It has been very interesting to watch how software has become more and more integral to medical products.”

Before founding Intertech, Vogel served as principal bioengineer at Becton Dickinson Medical Systems (Westwood, MA). His undergraduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was in computer science. He received an MSE in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Michigan in 1979 and completed his PhD in biomedical engineering there in 1980.Copyright ©2006 Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry
