Lanxess Opens Technology Center

Three business units of Lanxess Corp. (Pittsburgh; www.lanxess.com) have united under one roof with the opening of a Technology Center. The North American labs for the technical rubber products, material protection products, and functional chemicals business units of the company have been consolidated in the new facility, which hosts a variety of advanced technical capabilities.

The new lab offers an aging room, a mixing room, a biological testing lab, an extruding lab, and an analytical testing space. Lanxess Corp. was formed when the Bayer Group combined most of its chemical businesses and large segments of its polymer activities. The group makes products in the areas of chemicals, synthetic rubber, and plastics.
