BUSINESS PLANNING & TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

Cochlear Ltd. (Lake Cove, Australia) collaborated with Helbling Technik Bern AG (Liebefeld, Switzerland) for the mechanical design of the Nucleus Freedom BTE speech processor. The collaboration resulted in a device that includes many new features, such as a splashproof membrane that enables the external electronics to withstand water. The device also features a unique modular design that enables the user to wear it behind the ear or on the body. "Collaboration with the best in class has been fundamental to our ability to provide these improved benefits in hearing performance," says Cochlear CEO Chris Roberts, PhD.
