Display Manufacturer Adds Distributors in North America

A maker of specialty display solutions has added 11 distributors to its North American network. The industrial business unit of Planar Systems Inc. (Beaverton, OR; www.planar.com) expects to have a complete sales and support team for the North American region by the end of this year. The current network includes coverage of Mexico and Canada, and the company already has a strong presence in Europe and Asia.

The expansion of Planar’s distribution network will allow the company to pursue new markets for its displays. “We have chosen companies with skilled technical staff and local market knowledge to better support our existing customers and develop new business opportunities,” says Bill Hanrahan, director of North American sales for Planar Systems.

For new distributors, the high quality of Planar’s displays played a key role in the decision to carry the company’s products. “Planar offers a range of high-resolution flat-panel displays that demonstrate consistent, reliable performance,” says Mark Vadaj, president, Meta Technical Sales Inc.

Planar has 16 partners in Europe who resell its display products in several industries, including medical. Markets in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa are served by 12 partners.
