A provider of metrology products, The L.S. Starrett Co. (Athol, MA; www.starrett.com), has acquired Kinemetric Engineering LLC (Laguna Hills, CA; www.kinemetric.com). The acquisition will expand Starrett’s current array of metrology products, such as optical measuring projectors and vision systems, to include Kenemetric’s video-based metrology product line and specialty motion devices. . . . Teleflex Inc. (Limerick, PA; www.teleflexmedical.com), a supplier of medical devices, surgical instruments, and disposable medical products, has acquired Arrow International (Reading, PA; www.arrowintl.com). The acquisition of Arrow, a provider of catheter-based access and therapeutic products for critical and cardiac care, is part of Teleflex’s current portfolio expansion. . . . Frost & Sullivan has presented its 2007 Medical Device Global Excellence award to B. Braun Medical Inc. (Bethlehem, PA; www.bbraunusa.com). The award recognizes B. Braun as a leader in product development and initiatives in such product categories as regional anesthesia, infusion therapy, and DEHP- and PVC-free medical technology. . . . Memry Corp. (Bethel, CT; www.memry.com), a supplier of advanced material components, has received ISO 13485:2003 certification for its headquarters, its facility in Menlo Park, CA, and its subsidiary Putnam Plastics Co. plant in Dayville, CT. ISO 13485:2003 covers quality standards for medical product design, development, manufacture, shipping, and installation. . . . Kramski North America (Largo, FL; www.kramski.com) has relocated to a 35,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility, giving the company an extra 20,000 sq ft to accommodate new equipment and business growth. The company began running its first insert molding production line in September. . . . To expand its range of services for the medical device industry, a provider of tubing components and EDM services, Veridiam (San Diego; www.veridiam.com), has acquired Allied Swiss Screw Products Inc. (Oceanside, CA; www.alliedswiss.com). The company provides custom-fabricated machined parts, specializing in abutments, prosthetics, and surgical components.
