A machine tool provider has launched a business entity aimed at enhancing manufacturers’ overall machining processes. Through partnerships and internal development, the Mori Seiki (Irving, TX; www.moriseiki.com) machining technology laboratory plans to develop new technologies beyond the scope of machine tool design… LTS Corp. (West Caldwell, NJ; www.ltslaminates.com) has installed an additional in-line corona treater, thereby expanding its adhesive-coating capabilities. The unit can treat substrates measuring up to 3.175 mm thick and 1650 mm wide; coatings impart a surface tension ranging from 30 to 52 dyn/cm…Upon experiencing success from joint projects over the past 18 months, embedded systems provider Syncroness Inc. (Westminster, CO; www.syncroness.com) has acquired Kinetek Systems Inc. (Boulder, CO; www.kineteksystems.com), an embedded systems design firm. The companies will unite and operate under the Syncroness name… In order to better reflect its evolving identity, Machining Concepts Inc., a manufacturer of orthopedic and medical instruments and implants, has changed its name to Precision Medical Technologies (Warsaw, IN; www.premedtec.com)… Responding to increased demand, a supplier of customer thin-film circuits and ceramic interconnect devices has announced the expansion of its cleanroom facility. UltraSource (Hollis, NH; www.ultrasource.com) will add 1500 sq ft of cleanroom manufacturing space to the facility, which will be divided into Class 1000 and Class 100,000 cleanrooms.
