A company’s sensor division has implemented new testing facilities for improved quality and reduced lead times at its factory. A testing unit employed by MTS Systems Corp. (Cary, NC; www.mtssensors.com) checks the linearity of four sensors at once by measuring the accuracy of the float position from the end of the gauge, so that the sensors do not need to be retested before being shipped… Machining software supplier Delcam (Salt Lake City; www.delcam.com) has acquired International Manufacturing Computer Services Inc. (IMCS; Fort Washington, PA; www.partmaker.com), the developer of the PartMaker suite of CAM software. As part of the terms of the merger, IMCS will change its name to PartMaker Inc., and the product line will remain independent from other Delcam offerings.
