A new global regulatory affairs association was launched in January. TOPRA, the Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs, resulted from the joining of the British Institute of Regulatory Affairs and the European Society of Regulatory Affairs. The new group is headquartered in London.
The group's vision is “to become the world leader of high-quality education, training, information support services, and network opportunities in healthcare regulatory affairs.”
It will administer the master of science degree in regulatory affairs and other educational programs. The group will also publish an international journal called Regulatory Rapporteur and support an interactive Web site. The site will feature news, opinion pieces, information, and services.
The organization begins with more than 270 members in more than 45 countries, including the United States, Canada, and most European nations. Other member countries include Australia, China, India, and Japan. Membership in the organizaton is open to all healthcare regulatory professionals, regardless of location or specialty.
For more information, visit the group's Web site at www.topra.org.
