Eight two-part platinum-catalyzed silicone elastomers ranging in hardness from 20 to 75 Shore A constitute a company’s line of liquid silicone rubber formulations. Supplied as a kit, the QP1 line includes short-term implantable devices and those inserted into the body. These colorable liquid silicone rubber formulations do not contain peroxides, peroxide byproducts, chlorophenyls or polychlorinated biphenyls, organic plasticizers, phthalates, latex additives, or solvents. They cure rapidly and are amenable to postcuring. Once cured, the materials are stable at temperatures up to 400°F and can be autoclaved. The formulations also satisfy USP Class VI requirements.
