Adhesives specialist Avery Dennison Medical has upgraded its SilFoam Lite wound dressing, which now comes with certification to the European Union’s Medical Devices Regulation (MDR) as well as improvements in the product’s performance and sustainability.

The company has enhanced SilFoam Lite’s efficiency and reliability through improved fluid-handling capabilities and tack for wound-care applications.

The latest SilFoam Lite incorporates a thin 100 grams-per-square-meter (GSM) adhesive layer, thus achieving a better sustainability profile while also improving performance, according to Avery Dennison Medical.

MDR certification for Siloam Lite carries forward to customers who use it in their end products.

“Our goal is to consistently improve our products, and the MDR certification shows our dedication to quality products,” said Paul Saunders, senior global marketing manager. “The improved SilFoam Lite combines improved performance and sustainability, making it a compelling choice for today’s medical professionals.”

Avery Dennison Medical provides medical device OEMs and research institutions with an array of support services including product design, prototyping, application-specific testing, data packages for verification and validation, and production with validated processes and regulatory support.
