Trelleborg has finalized the acquisition of Baron Group, the prominent Australian-Chinese company manufacturing advanced precision silicone components.

Baron Group strengthens the position of Trelleborg Medical Solutions as a global partner for medical technology products in areas such as sleep apnea, respiratory care, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). By substantially expanding manufacturing capacity for injection molding of silicone and plastics and increasing global manufacturing capacity for liquid silicone rubber (LSR), the acquisition fortifies the presence of Trelleborg Medical Solutions in Asia and Australia.

Linda Muroski, President of Trelleborg Medical Solutions, said “Through Baron Group we will leverage high-volume production and engineered solutions offering expanded capabilities for liquid silicone rubber using their state-of-the art tooling. Our new facility in Costa Rica will be very valuable in supporting this acquisition and providing Baron’s key customers with nearshoring production in the Americas.”

The new facility supports Trelleborg Healthcare & Medical’s strategic goal to help customers consolidate their value chains, reducing overall costs. As the company’s first facility in Central America, it will facilitate supply chain continuity through a global manufacturing and distribution base.
