Extrusion Mandrel Developed for Manufacturing and Forming Catheter Tubing

Applied Plastics Extrusion MandrelAn extrusion mandrel for manufacturing and forming catheter tubing provides a smooth, slippery surface, enabling fast production. The PTFE natural extrusion mandrel is biocompatible and features a dynamic coefficient of friction of 0.5. Designed for extruding small-diameter catheter tubing, the silver-plated copper wire is supplied in continuous lengths on spools. It enables 25% elongation without flaking and failure, and is available in diameters of 0.010–0.080 in. with a tolerance of ±0.003 in., depending on size. The antistick mandrel is chemically inert and can withstand up to 315ËšC.
