Richard S. Cohen is president of the Walden Group Inc. (Tarrytown, NY), a strategic investment-banking firm specializing in the healthcare industry. Cohen has a BA from Cornell University, as well as a JD from the New York University School of Law, where he was an editor of the law review. He also attended the Leonard M. Stern Graduate School of Business at New York University.
Nadim M. Daher is a biomedical engineer and an industry analyst with the North American healthcare practice of Frost & Sullivan (San Antonio, TX). He focuses on monitoring and analyzing emerging trends, technologies, and market dynamics in the North American medical imaging industry, including imaging informatics (radiology, cardiology PACS, advanced visualization) and imaging equipment.
Thomas J. Gunderson is a managing director and senior research analyst at Piper Jaffray & Co. (Minneapolis), where he follows cardiology and other medical device companies. Gunderson holds a bachelor's degree from Carleton College, a master's degree in cell biology from the University of Minnesota, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas.
James X. Laskaris is a senior emerging technology analyst at MD Buyline (Dallas), where he also covers the legislative and reimbursement impact on healthcare. Laskaris received his biomedical engineering degree from Southern Illinois University in 1983.
Casey Crawford Lynch is managing director of Neuro-Insights (San Francisco), where she works with companies to develop strategic business plans and helps investors identify and profit from opportunities in neurotechnology. Bill Martineau is an industry analyst with the Freedonia Group (Cleveland), where he has written medical studies in a variety of fields, including nutraceuticals, pharmaceutical packaging, drug-delivery systems, and in vitro diagnostics. Martineau holds a BA in management and an MBA in marketing and finance from Kent State University.
Venkat Rajan is an industry analyst in the healthcare group of Frost & Sullivan (San Antonio, TX), specializing in the cardiovascular device markets. Rajan completed his graduate work in biomedical engineering at the University of Texas, Austin, and holds undergraduate degrees in biology and electrical engineering with biomedical specialization from Southern Methodist University.
Shara Rosen has worked as a laboratory technologist, a marketing manager for a diagnostics company, and a journalist and editor for numerous medical trade journals. She is currently the managing editor of Diagnostic Insight, the official publication of the Biomedical Marketing Association. She also owns and operates her own consulting firm, StratCom (Montreal), which provides market information services to the diagnostics and biotechnology industries.
Manfred Scholz, PhD, is president of Scholz Consulting Partners (Medford, MA), a strategic planning and business development consultancy for diagnostics and life sciences firms. Scholz holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees from Goethe University (Frankfurt, Germany) and an MBA from Babson College (Wellesley, MA).
John J. Viscogliosi is a principal in the investment banking firm of Viscogliosi Bros. LLC (New York City), and is chairman and CEO of Raymedica Inc. (Minneapolis), a medical device company focused on the development and manufacture of spinal disk nucleus arthroplasty devices to treat degenerative disk disease and disk herniations, and developer of the first prosthetic disk nucleus device.
Roger Zickfeld is a healthcare investment banker at B. Riley & Co. (Los Angeles) and a former medical device executive at Karl Storz Endoscopy (Culver City, CA). He has more than 20 years of financing, operating, and corporate strategy experience. Zickfeld graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California and earned an MBA at the University of California, Los Angeles.
