Domalys showcased Aladin, a smart lamp that uses machine learning to recognize patient emergencies in the home. It learns the "baseline activity" of the patient and warns caregivers if something "uncharacteristic occurs," such as a fall or getting up more at night, according to the company. And if there is not enough light in the room for the patient, Aladin lights up, which the company claims can help reduce fall risks.
The solution connects to Domalys online software to record events, and an app, Domalys PRO, can alert caregivers, too. Software can be used by assisted living facilities to monitor residents.
The smart lamp had been previously recognized with an award during CES 2019, and has since been refined, Domalys reported.
