The Esysta insulin pen also eliminates the need for patients to manually document how much insulin they are taking and automatically transmits that information. The system also comprises the Esysta Lab, a blood glucose meter. Both the pen and the meter communicate with a SIM-card enabled Esysta Basis which transmits insulin units taken and blood glucose levels to the Esysta portal making the data available to clinicians. Other Bluetooth-enabled continuous glucose monitors and blood glucose meters can also be connected to the Esysta app. Both the Esysta app and the insulin pen are awaiting CE Mark.
