Sylvia Burwell, a Rhodes Scholar, has recently taken over reins at the Department of Health & Human Services. Within two weeks of taking on that role, she announced management changes to increase accountability and make sure that the hampered rollout of the federal insurance marketplace is not repeated.

Before joining the department, Burwell served as director of the Office of Management and Budget. And prior to that, Burwell worked in the nonprofit world - she was president of the Walmart Foundation, and president of the Global Development Program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
