Partnership Broadens Medical Outsource Offerings

A quartet of New England–based manufacturers has united to form a medical platform aimed at serving the outsource needs of medical device OEMs. Riverside Partners LLC (Boston; www.riversidepartners.com), a healthcare-focused private equity firm; New England Precision Grinding (NEPG; Holliston, MA; www.nepg1.com), a supplier of stock and custom
wire products; Accu-Met Laser (Cranston, RI; www.accumetlaser.com), a service provider specializing in cutting, welding, drilling, engraving, and wire EDM operations; and American Medical Instruments Inc. (Dartmouth, MA; www.amiinc.com), a manufacturer of custom needles, needle assemblies, and components, compose the organization.

“This new platform will enable us to become an integrated provider capable of offering the medical community a diverse array of specialty manufactured solutions on a highly responsive basis, up to and including finished medical devices,” says Gerald Mazzenga, CEO of NEPG.

Providing a complete outsourcing option, the business partnership offers such manufacturing capabilities as prototyping, components, assemblies, and finished medical devices for cardiovascular, orthopedic, laparoscopic, endoscopic, ophthalmic, and additional medical applications. The group will operate out of the companies’ respective facilities and will employ 235 people.
