A global contract manufacturer is doubling the size of its ISO Class 7 (Class 10,000) cleanroom devoted to the production of plastic medical devices and supplies via radio-frequency (RF) welding. The cleanroom facility currently houses equipment for performing heat-sealing operations by means of impulse, sonic, and RF welding of both polar and nonpolar materials. A proprietary technology is used to carry out the thermoplastic heat-sealing of nonpolar materials. The heat-sealing specialist has experience welding such medical products as surgical instrument covers, inflatable device components, oxygen hoods, compression-therapy and DVT sleeves, cooling caps, disposable warming blankets, and cooling therapy products.
