Executives from global motion control companies have launched a new trade association to serve the interests of motor, drive, and control companies. The Motion Control Association (MCA; Ann Arbor, MI) will promote the use of mechanical and electronic motion control technology, which currently accounts for more than $44 billion in annual sales globally.
The organization plans to develop and coordinate industry standards, provide educational programs, host an executive-level business conference, and become a resource for motion control technology. The group’s Web site, www.motioncontrolonline.org, provides users an online buyers guide, articles and technical papers, new product information, user tips, an “ask the expert” forum, career center, and bookstore.
MCA plans to increase its membership. Details on charter membership and an application are available at the organization’s Web site.
