Medtronic's Guardian 4 CGM Sensor

Earlier this year, Medtronic snagged CE mark approval for a CGM sensor that will be marketed as the Guardian 4 sensor.

“We're pleased with the accuracy of Guardian 4, and that it has now been labeled for dosing without fingersticks,” Medtronic CEO Geoff Martha said during the company’s most recent earnings call. “Starting this fall, Europeans will not only have access to the 780G with the highest reported time-in-range of any insulin pump, but also our Guardian 4 sensor with no fingersticks required, and our extended infusion set with an industry-leading seven-day wear. We think this is a highly differentiated product offering and one that we can't wait to bring to other markets.”

The timing of a U.S. launch is still uncertain, but both the 780G and the Guardian 4 are under active review with FDA.
