While a bigger share of employees reported receiving a raise over the past 12 months, the average raise decreased from 5.5% last year to 4.8% this year. Many raises didn’t come with strings attached: 71% of respondents said their bump in pay wasn’t the result of a promotion or change in responsibilities.

A higher percentage of employees reported receiving a bonus this year, and the typical bonus climbed $2500 over last year, to $10,000.

A bigger share of employees than last year also reported that their employers offer perks including health insurance, 401(k), dental insurance, bonuses, educational benefits, profit sharing, life insurance, and incentive pay. A smaller share than last year report being offered stock options.

But despite higher salaries, bigger bonuses, and more benefits, a higher percentage of medtech employees said they feel they aren’t paid enough for their work. More than a third said they feel their compensation is too little.
