With medtech market growth slowing in the U.S., it's not surprising that more companies are venturing into new markets. Seventy-one percent of this year's survey respondents said their organizations have an international presence, compared with 67% in 2013.

Consolidation among medtech firms is also ramping up. Forty percent of the employees we surveyed reported that their company was involved in a merger or acquisition over the past 12 months, compared with 35% in 2012.
