Boston is home to the highest number of biomedical engineers in the nation, and the city will celebrate its status as one of the world’s premier medtech hubs during Massachusetts Medtech Week this coming April. The best way to partake in the festivities is to head to the BIOMEDevice Boston conference and expo, April 13 and 14, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

Here are a few goings-on at the show that you won’t want to miss.

Exhibition

With medical device companies refocusing on their core capabilities to increase innovation, it’s more important than ever to find trusted suppliers and contract partners. At the BIOMEDevice Boston expo, you’ll be able to meet face-to-face with more than 200 exhibitors showcasing their wares and capabilities on the show floor. Browse on your own or sign up for a free innovation tour to have field experts point out the newest technologies, innovations, and trends.

Educational Opportunities

With two paid conference tracks and a host of free educational opportunities, BIOMEDevice Boston is a great way to increase your industry intelligence. Conference attendees can choose between medtech design or biomedical innovation tracks, with sessions focusing topics like appealing to hospital value analysis committees and innovating within cost constraints. On the show floor, you can take advantage free Center Stage sessions on new product development and branding or hear suppliers discuss their most exciting technologies in the Tech Theater.

Networking

While BIOMEDevice Boston is certainly a great place to increase your knowledge about the medtech industry, it also provides a great opportunity to get to know your peers in the medtech industry. If you’d like some help making connections, sign up for a speed networking session, free with your expo registration. We’ll match you with other professionals who share your interests for a series of 10-minute speed meetings. For a more casual atmosphere, join a free Booth Crawl from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day. You and your fellow attendees can browse the aisles of the show floor while enjoying beer, wine, and snacks. If you purchase a conference pass, you can also take advantage of a networking reception at 4 p.m. on April 14 to discuss what you learned in your sessions with fellow attendees.

MassMEDIC’s 20th Annual Conference

For the second year in a row, the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC), the largest regional medical device association in the country, is holding its annual conference in conjunction with BIOMEDevice Boston. That means that in addition to lunching with their peers and hearing from speakers including Abiomed CEO Michael Miogue and IBM Watson Health’s Deborah DiSanzo, attendees will have full access to the BIOMEDevice Boston exhibit hall
