Biobots, based in Philadelphia, has created a 3-D bioprinter that can be used to create functional living tissue. Its desktop system uses blue-light technology to rapidly cure biomaterials without damaging cells, supports high-resolution printing, and can be used with dozens of materials. The device is currently available for preorder.
