The medtech industry is facing profound changes. Healthcare reform has disrupted traditional reimbursement and care models. Technology is advancing at an ever-faster pace. Even patients aren’t patients anymore; they’re consumers.
All this change has seasoned industry veterans wondering how to adapt their businesses for the future. To find the answer, they might want to ask the men and women profiled on the following pages.
Earlier this year, MD+DI sought nominations for our list of 40 people under the age of 40 who are influencing medtech. We asked readers to point us to future industry leaders, and they shared with us the extraordinary stories of young people whose work is changing the landscape of the medical device business. Our 40 under 40 are developing novel technologies and companies that will transform healthcare and take us into the future.
Now, more than ever, the industry needs new ideas and new blood. As retiring Baby Boomers vacate vital positions, it’s up to the new class of medtech innovators to step up and fill those roles. Based on what we learned in speaking with the young people you’ll read about here, they’re more than prepared to take on the challenge.
