Needle products can be seen on the upgraded Web site of a company focused on design and development of safety-engineered medical devices. The products use the company's retracting technology, which permanently withdraws the needle into the device body before it is discarded. With a portfolio of 38 items, Med-Design Corp. (Ventura, CA) offers prospective customers devices for applications in blood collection, infusion therapy, venous and arterial insertion, and injection.

"With a significant number of new and revised product designs now available for either licensing or contract manufacturing, we wanted to make it easy for prospective partners and health professionals to view these designs and see how they work," says David Dowsett, the company's chief operating officer. "Visitors to the Web site can see all of the products before and after needle retraction, and can take a virtual tour of our facilities. Our site will offer both resources and information and [give customers] an idea of the many product areas in which one can find safety designs--from pharmaceutical prefilled devices to anesthesia and vascular delivery products."

The Web site also provides links to needle-safety information and OSHA regulations regarding the National Needlestick Safety and PreventionAct.
