Medtech Salary Survey: Full Report

Are your colleagues making more than you make? Is your salary as high as it should be for your position and level of experience? More importantly, is it time to ask for a raise?

Those questions and more are the reasons behind MD+DI’s annual Medtech Salary Survey.

Each year, we ask medical device and diagnostics industry professionals detailed questions about their salaries, bonuses, benefits, job satisfaction, job security, and more. This year’s survey was fielded online from May 10, 2023, through June 8, 2023, with 397 respondents completing the survey anonymously. Responses were filtered so that only those working full-time for a manufacturer of medical devices, a manufacturer of in vitro diagnostics (IVDs), or a manufacturer of both medical devices and IVDs were included in the final analysis, resulting in 226 usable responses.

We’ve analyzed the data to reveal the overall median salary for medical device and diagnostics industry professionals as well as the median salaries for those professionals in research and development, product design engineering, management, quality control, regulatory affairs, and production. Results are also broken down by gender, experience, company size, and number of employees supervised.
