Founded in 1947, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from some 140 countries, one from each country. ISO promotes the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services and developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological, and economic activity.

Established in 1987, The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is given by the President of the United States to education and healthcare organizations and businesses—manufacturing and service, small and large—that are judged to be outstanding in seven areas: leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis, human resource focus, process management, and business results.

The Praxiom Research Group Limited website claims to translate 17 quality standards into "plain English". Most of the material provide is free, but some of it needs to be paid for.

The Safety Link is published by International Product Safety News and provides an enormous list of links related to safety.

The ISO Quality Forums allow for the exchange of standards-related information among industry professionals. Membership is free.
