New Appointments at Active Implants, Winland Electronics, and Solta Medical

Active Implants Appoints Lex R. Giltaij President and COO
Active Implants Corporation (AIC) has appointed Dr. Lex R. Giltaij as president and chief operating officer. AIC also announced the establishment of its subsidiary’s international headquarters in The Netherlands, from which Giltaij will direct operations. AIC will focus on completing clinical studies of the NUsurface Meniscus Implant, a treatment for pain and disability arising from osteoarthritis of the knee. Dr. Giltaij brings more than 20 year of experience in successfully introducing innovative orthopaedic devices to international markets. He held senior executive positions in Stryker Benelux and Stryker Biotech, building their respective businesses in The Benelux and Europe. [Active Implants]

Winland Appoints David Gagne as CEO and Director
Winland Electronics, a manufacturer of critical condition monitoring devices, has appointed David Gagne as its new chief executive officer and director.Gagne joined Winland earlier this year as an advisor to the board, hired to lead an outside project team to analyze and evaluate the company’s products, competitors, sales channels and business strategy. Prior to joining Winland, Gagne, served as chief operating officer at Xata, a leading provider of software as a service and mobile products. Gagne joined the company in 2007 as executive vice president in charge of field operations. In his various roles he was responsible for sales, marketing, services, distribution and customer support. Sola Medical Appoints Lisa Parr as VP of Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Affairs
Solta Medical Inc. a manufacturer of medical aesthetics products, has appointed of Dr. Lisa Parr as vice president of regulatory affairs and clinical affairs. Parr brings 25 years of senior management experience successfully leading clinical and regulatory initiatives for medical device, pharmaceutical, and consumer product companies. Parr was most recently the VP of clinical, regulatory, and quality  affairs at Tria Beauty where she secured a number of regulatory clearances for light-based aesthetic and therapeutic devices for at-home use. [Solta Medical]
