Kevin Lobo Named CEO of Stryker

  • Medical device maker Stryker Corp has named Kevin Lobo, head of its orthopedics unit, as president and chief executive. Lobo, joined Stryker in April 2011, and will also sit on the company's board. He has held executive positions in general management and finance at a variety of healthcare companies, most recently at Johnson & Johnson, which he joined in 2003 as CFO of the McNeil Consumer Healthcare unit.

AngioDynamics Bolsters Senior Leadership Team With Key Appointments

  • AngioDynamics, a provider of minimally invasive medical devices for vascular access, surgery, peripheral vascular disease and oncology, has announced the appointment of Louis J. Mazzarese as senior vice president and chief regulatory officer, and John Soto as senior vice president, global franchise, peripheral vascular. Mazzarese brings more than 40 years of medical device and pharmaceutical experience, including driving strategic planning and professional development within the industry through his consulting practice. Soto has a background spanning from sales and marketing to international markets and regulatory environments, as well as finance and operations. Most recently he was senior vice president of Smith & Nephew's global hip franchise. Mazzarese and Soto will report to president and CEO Joseph M. DeVivo.

Nuvon Appoints Christopher Gatti as CEO

  • Nuvon Inc., creators of a patient care data integration product for Electronic Medical Records (EMR) device connectivity and interoperability, has announced the appointment of Christopher Gatti to the position of chief executive officer. Stephen Spencer has also been appointed as vice president, sales and marketing, with Cathleen Asch transitioning from the position of CEO to executive VP of strategic initiatives and continuing to serve on the Nuvon board of directors. Gatti has over 15 years of executive leadership experience in healthcare IT and analytics. Most recently he served at ColdLight Solutions, a data analytics company recognized in both of the past two years as one of the 25 fastest growing companies in the Philadelphia region

Alphatec Spine Appoints New Senior Vice President of U.S. Commercial Operations

  • Alphatec Holdings Inc., the parent company of Alphatec Spine Inc., a medical device company that designs, develops, manufactures, and markets products for the surgical treatment of spine disorders, with a focus on treating conditions related to the aging spine, has named Thomas McLeer as senior vice president of U.S. commercial operations. In this role McLeer will have responsibility for U.S. sales and marketing, Alphatec Spine's biologics division, and research and development. McLeer will report to Les Cross, the company's chairman and CEO. McLeer most recently served as chief marketing officer and general manager of spinal operations for Pioneer Surgical, a full-line manufacturer and distributor of spinal implants and biologics, where he had responsibility for the marketing, sales, engineering, contracts, and customer service departments.

Joe Schwoebel Added to Neuros Management Team

  • Medical device company Neuros Medical Inc. has added Joe Schwoebel to its management team as vice president, clinical and regulatory affairs. Schwoebel will lead the company’s programs for clinical studies, regulatory affairs, and quality systems. Schwoebel has over 25 years of strategic accomplishments in clinical studies and regulatory affairs for medical technologies. He has particular focus with neuromodulation and treatment of chronic pain, both globally and domestically.
