In March and April, MassMEDIC and PRTM surveyed nearly 100 medtech leaders about policy, regulatory, and macro-economic changes. When asked to identify the change that "will have the greatest negative impact on innovation," close to 80% of respondents selected the device tax.
510(k) reform was the next issue that received the most votes for its likely negative impact. The majority of respondents seemed happy with the status quo. 53% said that FDA's current 510(k) process was "adequate to support FDA's mission to protect and promote public health."
