Accellent and at least two other medical device companies are setting up shop in Penang, Malaysia. This is an area that is steadily increasing its medical device pedigree—B. Braun, Symmetry Medical, and St. Jude Medical already have facilities in the state. One report says that contract manufacturer Accellent is looking to invest about $82 million in a manufacturing facility at the Bukit Minyak Science Park. The company, which provides precision manufacturing and engineering services for devices used in drug delivery, neurology, endoscopy, orthopedics, and cardiology, plans to offer these services to customers in the region. One of its customers, St. Jude Medical, is slated to start its own operations in the region next year.
Recommended but Island & Mainland are not the same
Penang should be on the list of high potential manufacturing sites.
Although, I recommend Penang, I would not use the word "paradise".
I would rephrase the title "Is Penang a Good Place to Manufacture Medical Devices".
There are Penang Island Land price issues and mainland challenges.
Overall, Penang is a good place to manufacture.
