Feds Raid The Scooter Store

The Scooter Store, the nation's largest power wheelchair company became a target of the FBI last week. Government auditors found that The Scooter Store overbilled Medicare to the tune of $108 million from 2009–2012. The company has been accused of putting profits over patient care, aggressively pursuing doctors into prescribing power wheelchairs, even when patients do not need them. The company even has a department devoted to finding ways and means for patients who were ruled ineligible by Medicare to get power chairs. Full details of the FBI search warrant are under seal.

Government representatives

Government representatives descended like a furious cloud of bees searching for justice onto the headquarters of the Scooter Store. The company, the one behind those commercials guaranteeing power scooters for all with jeopardized mobility, is being probed for possible Medicare scam. In my point of view, if they found Scooter Store guilty, the government needs to nail them to the wall. Set them as an example for all those profiteers and to those who are scheming ways to steal from medicare/AHA/US taxpayers.
