Acquisitions This Week
  • Johnson & Johnson announced this week that it would acquire device firm Micrus Endovascular for $480 million. Micrus, which is based in San Jose, CA, specializes in devices used to treat strokes and aneurysms. The acquired company earned $91 million in revenue for its fiscal year that ended in March.
  • Covidien said on Monday that it has completed its acqusition of ev3 for $2.6 billion. ev3, based in Plymouth, MN, specializes in devices for endovascular surgery. The acquired company, which had $449 million in revenue for FY 2009, will be come part of Covidien's vascular products business.
