Medical device manufacturers can implement a size estimation chart during the quality control process to find dirt and defects in industrial materials. The transparency can be used to measure spots, defects, or inclusions that range in size from 0.02 to 5.00 mm2. The chart was developed using standards accredited by the American National Standards Institute. Each spot is measured against the 2.0 dot with a 100-power magnifier that has a reticle (scale) incremented in 0.5 μm.
