• Look at the current supplier list and examine how each supplier is driving value.
• Use a scorecard approach to evaluate factors beyond the invoice price. Quality, service, pricing, delivery, and flexibility are considered. 
• Examine the complexity of the current supply chain to find opportunities to consolidate spending, improve supply stability through multisourcing, and introduce replacement components that align with the latest technologies.
• Introduce suppliers with better lead time or flexibility performance to meet the OEM's needs.
