A micropulse-arc welding system is capable of performing five welds per second. Offered as a cost-effective alternative to a laser welding system, the Orion Pulse 250i is equipped with intelligent welding technology. This feature is designed to simplify the welding process by automatically adjusting weld settings for any metal or application. The system also features two different welding modes: tack mode and pulse-arc mode. The former uses resistance welding technology and is suited for temporary placement or permanent fusion welding; the latter employs pulse-arc welding technology and consists of three different energy ranges. Additional features include interactive touch screen navigation, high-frequency agitation for difficult metals such as palladium, adaptive weld ignition for long electrode life, and a rapid-fire setting for laser-like welding speed. Typical applications include catheters, defibrillators, guidewires, pacemakers, and hearing aids.
