An Atlanta law firm has started a medical device practice area to service the growing device industry in the Southeast region.
Morris, Manning & Martin LLP hopes to be a legal resource to help regional device firms as they grow in size and complexity.
“There are dozens of medical device companies in the Southeast alone, and the industry appears to be poised for long-term growth both in the United States and overseas,” said Rick Haury, who is chairing the firm's medical device group. “In order for companies to capitalize on that potential, they need to have resources and professional service providers who can help them reach the next level.”
Haury is also cofounder and president of the Southeastern Medical Device Association, a recently founded nonprofit organization for device companies and other industry participants in the region.
“The firm's depth of experience in healthcare, technology, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and taxation prepares us to offer a unique blend of specialized services,” he said.
