It will also serve as a future manufacturing site for the company. EaglePicher supplies batteries to manufacturers of implantable medical devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. It offers a variety of electrochemistries for implants including lithium ion, lithium manganese dioxide, lithium thionyl chloride, and lithium carbon monofluoride. The company operates two manufacturing operations and one R&D center in Joplin, MO.
