A line of dial-up modems has been specifically engineered for use by OEMs in the medical services industry. The medical modems comply with the standards for medical applications specified by IEC 60601-1 and most global medical device requirements. They are available as embedded modules with a serial TTL or USB interface, or as a USB external dongle, and can operate in Windows, Linux, or Mac environments. All embedded modems can operate in temperatures from –40° to 85°C, with high-voltage 3-kV isolation breakdown on selected models. All versions are compliant with the RoHS. All platforms are available with fax, voice playback, and record functions, as well as dual-tone multifrequency tone generation and detection. OEM private labeling is available. All medical modem versions are CCITT and Bell compliant for compatibility with existing and future installations.
